Who is responsible for your data
The controller of your personal data on RumboVisa is Teachers AI Éxito LLC, 30 N Gould St, Sheridan, WY 82801, USA. Contact email: hola@rumbovisa.com.
What we collect
We collect only what the service needs to work:
- Account data: when you sign in with Google (through Firebase), we store your email address, your name, your profile photo and your sign-up date.
- What you do in the simulator: the answers you type and, in the voice interview, the recording of your voice. The audio is sent to the AI provider to be transcribed and is not stored. We do store the transcript of voice interviews and, when you ask for a detailed report, the report, which includes parts of your answers. We use the microphone only during the voice interview and with your permission.
- Usage and access records: the interviews you have left and the free ones you used, session details (country, visa type, language and dates), your purchases and referral program data (your code, who invited you and the interviews you earned).
- What you send through the contact form: your message, the email address for our reply, the page you write from, a payment reference if you include one, your browser, your IP address and, if you are signed in, your account.
- What you send us by email: your message, your name and email address as they appear on it, and anything you attach.
- Payment data: payments are made on the secure page of Stripe or, in Colombia, Wompi. They receive your card or payment method details, which never pass through or get stored on our servers. We keep only the purchase email, amount, currency, country, interviews bought and payment identifier.
- Cookies and browser storage: we use Google Analytics, with IP anonymization, to measure visits, a cookie that remembers your country, browser storage that keeps you signed in, and your browser's local storage for the display theme, your referral code and your latest payment reference. We do not use advertising cookies today. If we start measuring Google Ads campaign conversions, we will use Google's measurement cookies for that purpose only.
- Abuse-prevention records: to limit bulk requests, we keep records tied to your IP address.
Why we use your data
- To provide the service: simulating the visa interview with AI and preparing your reports.
- To manage your account, your available interviews and your referral rewards.
- To process payments, unlock what you bought and fix billing errors.
- To answer your messages and reports.
- To protect the site against abuse, fraud and automated use.
- To understand, through statistics, how the site is used and improve the simulator.
AI providers
The simulator sends your typed answers, your voice recording and the interview conversation to Google, which processes them with its Gemini models, including to transcribe your voice and generate the officer's voice. If Gemini fails temporarily, text requests (never audio) may be processed by Moonshot AI's Kimi models. We send only what each response needs.
Who we share your data with
Only with the providers that help us run the site and that process the data on our behalf: Google Cloud and Firebase (hosting, sign-in, database and Google Analytics), Google (Gemini models and the mailbox where we receive your messages), Moonshot AI (Kimi models, as a backup), Stripe and Wompi (payments), Brevo (email delivery of contact form messages) and Cloudflare (forwarding to our mailbox the emails you send us). We may also disclose data when the law or a competent authority requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep your account, interview, report, purchase and message data while your account exists or until you ask us to delete it, except for data the law requires us to keep longer, such as payment records.
International transfers
We are a United States company, and our providers store and process data mainly in the United States, though they may also do so in other countries. This means your data leaves your country. We work with providers that offer adequate protection safeguards.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your data and, where the law allows, object to its processing or withdraw your consent. These rights are governed by the law of your country, for example Law 1581 of 2012 in Colombia, the Federal Law on the Protection of Personal Data Held by Private Parties (LFPDPPP) in Mexico or the General Data Protection Law (LGPD) in Brazil. You can also file a complaint with the data protection authority in your country.
To exercise them, email us at hola@rumbovisa.com or use the contact form. Include your account email and what you are asking for. To protect your data, we will confirm the request at that address before acting on it, and we will reply by email within the time limits of the applicable law.
We do not sell your data
We do not sell or rent your personal data, and we do not share it with third parties for advertising.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the service or the law changes. The date at the top of the page shows the current version.
